The Western States Communication Association is currently searching for a new editor of the association’s newsletter, WSCA News. The editor’s term runs three years, beginning July 1, 2013 and ending June 30, 2016. The position is accompanied by financial support in the amount of $1,000 per year. WSCA News communicates the activities of the organization with its membership, and is the forum that brings our organization’s leadership, interest group chairs, nominating committees, and WSCA membership into conversation with one another. Published electronically, WSCA News disseminates information about the opportunities, events, deadlines, and activities of the organization three times during a calendar year. Interested individuals should be skilled at both soliciting content for the newsletter and in disseminating that material in a way that is aesthetically appealing and informative. To apply, please send the following materials to Greg Dickinson, Chair of the Publications Committee at email@example.com: 1) A letter of application that includes a statement of interest in serving as the WSCA News Editor, description of editorial goals and philosophy as WSCA News Editor, and a summary of relevant experience, 2) a statement indicating the kind of institutional support the candidate will receive from the home institution, 3) a curriculum vita, and 4) the names and contact information of three references. The deadline for submission of application materials is April 1, 2013.
